Have you always wanted to play in a band? In this popband course you will learn to play along with other participants. Existing bands are welcomed too.
What will you be doing?
You will spend time practicing the controlling your instrument, phrasing, timing, arranging, singing and background singing. If there is a demand for musical theory and harmonising, it will also be covered in class. You will practice a repertoire after which the students will choose which style(s) they would like to use. Original songs are welcomed too. After 15 weeks you will be playing along with a band on stage!
Preliminary playing (Block 1 is closed)
Prior to dividing up the bands we will be organizing a preliminary playing session. This preliminary session will take place on a Mondayevening in January 2025 for the courses starting in the week of 17 February 2025.
How well you play, and the type of instrument will determine which band you will be grouped together with. You will receive a message one week after the preliminary playing session announcing whether you were placed. You can apply for the preliminary playing session through this form.
