Courses season 2025/2026
CREA organises around 700 courses every year from digital media to visual arts and from theatre to photography.
Most of these are 10-week courses, for which there are three starting dates per year. But there are also 5-week courses, special projects and a summer course programme.
The 2026 summer programme is now available on the website and everyone can sign up! This summer, CREA is offering a wide range of creative courses: from intensive week-long courses to short day courses and flexible, new formats.
- Start of 10-week courses: in the week of 29 September 2025
- Enrolments open – for full-time students and young-alumni (UvA/HvA): Wednesday 2 July 2025 – 12:00
- Enrolments open – for old-alumni and employees (UvA/HvA) and others: Wednesdag 10 September 2025 – 12:00
- Course free week: 20 – 26 October 2025
- Day courses: Saturday 8 November 2025
- MADE in CREA: LIVE – course presentation weekend performing courses: Friday 19, Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 December 2024 (participation is optional).
- Start of 10-week courses: in the week of 19 January 2026
- Enrolments open – for full-time students and young-alumni (UvA/HvA): Monday 6 October 2025 – 12:00
- Enrolments open – for old-alumni and employees (UvA/HvA) and others: Wednesday 17 December 2025 – 12:00
- MADE in CREA: LIVE – course presentation weekend performing courses: Friday 27, Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 March 2026 (participation is optional).
(Please note: due to many the holidays, this block is 9 weeks!)
- Start of 9-week courses: from the week of 13 April 2026
- Enrolments open – for full-time students and young alumni (UvA/HvA): Monday 26 January 2026 – 12:00
- Enrolments open – for old alumni and employees (UvA/HvA) and others: Wednesday 18 March 2026 – 12:00
- Course free week: 27 April – 3 May 2026
- MADE in CREA: LIVE – course presentation weekend performing courses: Friday 26, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June 2026 (participation is optional).
In July and August, CREA will once again be the place to go for plenty of creative inspiration: from intensive week-long courses to short day courses and flexible, new formats.
The programme for the 2026/2027 season will be published on the website at the end of June! Students and young-alumni will be the first to be able to enrol from the start of July, with enrolment opening to everyone at the start of September.
Are you interested in a CREA course, but is a 10-week course too big a commitment? Or did you miss the start date of the course block? Each block also offers a number of shorter 5-week courses. Some of these start at the same time as the 10-week courses, while others start halfway through the course block.
Block 1: start in the week of 29 September or in the week of 10 November.
Block 2: start in the week of 19 January or in the week of 23 February
Block 3: start in the week of 13 April (no later starting courses)
The block of one-day courses have finished, but there may be more one-day courses later in the 2025-2026 season. When the time comes, you will find the link here.
In addition to regular courses, CREA also has a number of special projects and groups. For those who are looking for just that little bit of extra challenge or would like to get involved for a longer period of time.
For instance, you can join the CREA jazz and pop bands, the Any Blue Choir or dance in the choreography project. Or join Student Choir Amsterdam, the CREA orchestra or the Amsterdam Student Big Band!
