Want to discover more of your voice? Create new sounds? In this course, you’ll explore how to get more out of your voice to allow you to move more freely vocally.
What will we be doing?
We will use various singing techniques such as sound-oriented singing, Roy Hart, and Nicoline’s speciality: Rhiannon’s improvisation techniques. As practice material, we will use arrangements from different parts of the world: Africa, Scandinavia, the Balkans, South America, all areas with their own voice use and movement.
The structure is as follows: The first 4 lessons will pass by 4 basic elements of singing.
The lesson itself is divided into 2 parts. First part physical warming up, focus, clearing your head, stretching and vocal development. 2nd part singing small songs, themes, canon, improvisation.. In the last 4 lessons, we repeat what we have learned and the elements come back in creative exercises and songs. The teacher will give listening assignments to listen to outside of class in preparation for the next lesson.
