Vocal Play – Vocal Improv: Sing. Listen. React. Create.
Are you a student looking for a place where you can sing freely, without judgement or staves? Where you learn to listen with your whole body and use voice as expression? Then Vocal Play – Vocal Improv is for you.
This course is inspired by Rhiannon’s Vocal River – a powerful method for vocal improvisation, rooted in connection, spontaneity and creativity. We work with The Well’s guide lines, which focus on safety, collaboration and musicality.
What will we do?
Improvising with voice, silence, rhythm and harmony – that’s what Vocal Play is all about. We dive into jazz, world music and free improvisation, always playing with the moment and with each other.
In a safe and attentive setting, you work in groups as well as solo. By listening, responding and daring, space is created for expression and connection. You don’t need any experience – your curiosity and openness are enough.
Using bodywork, you will discover how to sing more freely. You will learn how your voice blends with the sound of others, and how to trust your own sound.
Vocal Play is for everyone who wants to discover the power of voice and ensemble – playfully, intuitively and purely in the moment.
