Have you ever been curious about how dance performances are created in the theatre or would you like to experience it one day?
Modern dance theatre combines modern & contemporary dance with elements of physical theatre. This course takes you through an artistic creation process that eventually leads to a performance. Aissa”s lessons are gentle, playful and effective, structured and intuitive, focused and fun. She also pays a lot of attention to personal feedback and your authentic, individual expression. The theme of the performance depends on the group and the inspiration that presents itself at the time, so that”s still a surprise!
What will you be doing?
You will be taught a mix of modern and contemporary dance techniques, especially floorwork technique and improvisation. You will learn choreographies and get assignments to create your own material. You will also be coached in this, automatically learning to co-create (working with the choreographer to create material). We have in-depth discussions and watch a dance documentary. At the end of the week, you will have more tools and movement vocabulary to express yourself physically, you will know what and how an artistic creation process is and goes, and we will present a beautiful performance together!
