This Contemporary dance series is filled with modern dance techniques, floorwork and improvisation. Enjoying the learning process with the necessary discipline and developing your own movement style is the core of the classes. There is always room for input from the group.
Vainergill Thurnim’s classes
Vainergill’s lessons consist of a warm-up, improvisation, and choreography. In the warm-up we spend time training the necessary basic techniques such as bouncing/grounding, undulation, waving and polyrhythms. In the guided improvisation we look for your movement style. The different techniques and elements are bound together with West African dance aesthetics. The basic techniques and your way of moving all come together in the choreography. At the end of the series you will have developed into a versatile mover.

Siena Verber’s classes
In Siena’s classes you will dive into various aspects of Contemporary dance such as floorwork, composition, (contact) improvisation and choreography. You will do so using different tools and Siena’s movement language, which is fluid, grounded and groovy while also awakening your own creativity and way of dancing. We focus on creating a safe and playful group dynamic – as Siena finds this one of the most important and fun aspects of dance – you will grow collectively and individually. The class always starts with a moment to ground yourself, to arrive in the space. The main goal is for you to be in the moment and to enjoy yourselves. Everyone is welcome, no matter how experienced they are.

“The set-up was very nice, so we started with a good warm-up and then dance exercises, which were creative, educational and fun. We were gently guided in improvising (something that I find quite daunting) and it felt very familiar. I am very happy that I took the lessons!”
