In this course, you will become familiar with different materials such as pencil, charcoal, pastel and ink. You will also be introduced to different styles and techniques. For instance, you will work by observation to train eye-hand coordination. Initially, we work mainly with black-and-white materials, but colour is certainly not forbidden!
What will we be doing?
Above all, we will draw a lot! Each teacher will approach this in their own way, but you can count on using assignments to explore different subjects, materials, styles and techniques. You will explore the advantages of studies and sketches and find out how to work them out to a final result. Or learn about light-dark contrast, and also explore how to give individuality and style a place in drawing.
The whole group will be given an assignment, which could be from a particular technique or material, or based on nature, a model, a still life or photos, for example. The teacher will then guide and support everyone individually as much as possible.
