Go back to where photography started: analogue photography. Instead of taking unlimited pictures with your smartphone, take mindful photos on a real, old-school roll. Learn how your (complicated) analogue camera really works and how to change a roll yourself. Apart from some basic theory like ISO value, aperture and shutter speed, we will also focus on creative elements you can apply to make your photos even more creative and interesting!
What will you be doing?
This 10-week course will alternate between theory and practice: after all, the best way to learn photography is by doing it! You will also explore your own style as an (analogue) photographer and which photography subjects you want to focus on. All these elements will come together in our joint final exhibition! In the final lesson, each participant will present a triptych of photos shot during the course in analogue.
“As a beginner with a simple point-and-shoot who was quite insecure, I now feel more confident with photography, my analogue camera and have taken steps outside my comfort zone.” (summer course student Analogue Photography 2024)
“It’s nice to be able to ask all my questions and get clear answers to your questions. Something YouTube couldn’t do. Also, the course is accessible to everyone: from beginners to people who have already taken several photography courses!” (summer course student Analogue Photography 2024)
“I gained more insight into my own photography style with very helpful and personalised tips! Jonne creates a safe environment where nothing had to be forced and where we could confidently share our own work, tops & tips!” (summer course student Analogue Photography 2024)
