Movies are meant to be watched. When we make a film, we want to create an emotional impact on those who will see it. We all want our audience to laugh, cry, get scared or be surprised in some way. And that is because, eventually, a story is just the emotional journey of a character.
Through simple exercises and examples, in this course you will briefly explore how colour, composition, production design, editing, sound design, and other elements can be used to externalize character’s emotions so you can guide your audience through an emotional experience.
This 10-week course will allow you to get a sense of all the tools available for any filmmaker to tell their stories. Believe me, there are many more than what you can think of!
“I am amazed the way the professor carry on the subjects in class. Makes us feel comfortable to put in practice our filming projects which was hiding in our mind. Simply great!”
