In this course we create figurines, portraits and occasionally drawings of people. You learn to look closely at someone and to translate forms into a sculpture. Anatomy, proportions, composition and the personal view are extensively discussed.
What are we doing?
We work every class to professional models (male/female, clothed/nude). Most of the lessons we work with modeling clay, sometimes we draw. First, we will work on a figurine for a lesson. After that, we will work on one project for longer, so that you can create a larger sculpture.
“Fun, learned a lot, easy to follow and suitable for both beginners and ‘advanced’ students as you will be doing your own thing.”
– Course participant (season 2023-2024/block 2)
“I already knew a bit about proportions, which is what the first lessons focus on, but I also learnt a lot about the techniques, steps, and building a sculpture. So I definitely recommend it, for beginners and hobbyists alike!”
– Nadia (season 2024-2025/block1)
