A dynamic introduction to clay and ceramics with follow-up possibilities. From clay from the pack to a fired and coloured ceramic sculpture.
Playful assignments are the basis of this course. You usually work individually on an assignment. Sometimes with a group. What you can expect are modelling with the help of an artefact, something from nature or a live model, building up hollow images, constructing and modelling with slabs of clay, assembling and combination techniques. All this in combination with glaze techniques and engobe work.
The ceramic process according to teacher and visual artist Det Smeets is a vehicle for sharpening your perception, developing your creativity and fantasy and discovering your improvisational talent.
