During this course, you will work with the Adobe InDesign CC programme. InDesign is the programme to bring texts and images together in a beautiful layout. Under the teacher’s guidance, you will work through the programme’s basic tools and functions in five lessons.
What will you be doing?
You will learn what is possible within InDesign. Like playing with colour areas, typography and loading images. You will learn to edit these elements until you have a beautiful design. Besides getting acquainted with the technical possibilities of InDesign, we will also discuss how to create a good design. And what makes a design a good design? At the end, you will be able to create your own text with images and deliver it print-ready or suitable for a digital presentation. In between, you will be given assignments to learn the techniques and routing within the programme.
At CREA, we work with Adobe InDesign CC (in English) on a Mac.
To get the most out of the course, regular practice is very important. It is therefore important to download the software on your computer by purchasing a licence via Surfspot or taking a monthly subscription from Adobe.

This is a course for beginners.
You will work on Mac computers at CREA. If you can handle these, the course can be followed without any problems.
This is a 5-week course and therefore differs slightly from the regular course schedule.
- Block 1/fall: start between September/December 2024.
Priority registration for students and young-alumni until 9 September 2024 – 12:00. - Block 2/winter: start between January/March 2025.
Priority enrolment for students and young-alumni until 16 December 2024 – 12:00. - Block 3/spring: start between April/June 2025.
Programme published in December 2024, priority for students and young-alumni from 8 January 2025 – 12:00 to 17 March 2025 – 12:00.
Course sessions take place weekly on the same day and time. Lessons that do not take place due to holidays, course-free periods or due to illness of the lecturer will be caught up at the end. So please note that a course may be extended by several weeks.
