Vainergill Thurnim

Vainergill Thurnim is a 25-year-old Amsterdam-based dance artist. In 2020, she graduated from the dance teacher training programme, Academy for Theatre and Dance. Prior to that, she did the preliminary training and MBO at the Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts. She connects her training in commercial and contemporary dance using West African dance aesthetics.

Currently, Vainergill works as a freelance dancer, teacher, choreographer and producer. As a new maker, she is programmed at the RRReuring festival 2023, provides classes under the organisations DOX (Utrecht) and Tjillskillz (Hoorn) and has had the opportunity to work with choreographers Alida Dors, Anne Suurendonk and Christiaan Yav, among others.
