Juliette Dominicus is a documentary director, researcher and videographer. After her bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences (Utrecht University) she worked at the Professionals department of the Netherlands Film Festival and followed the master’s degree in Documentary and Fiction Film (University of Amsterdam) with a specialization in the development process of documentaries and storytelling. Her directorial debut ‘In het Donker gezien’ (2021) was selected for several (inter)national film festivals. Her most recent documentary ‘Indisch Zwijgen’ (2022) was screened in cinemas across the country. A subsequent impact program was also developed for the documentary, creating awareness of the colonial past through in-depth workshops, after-shows and meetups. In 2023, Juliette was selected as “FD Talent of the Year” as a documentary filmmaker by the Financieel Dagblad. Currently, Juliette works as a freelance filmmaker, researcher and documentary director.
