Let op: deze cursus wordt in het Engels gegeven.
The purpose of this course is to spend 10 weeks applying the knowledge you acquired in the Film basics course into making a short documentary film. You can work either alone or with a classmate.
What will you be doing?
Every week you will be presented in class with examples on how to use different narrative tools (interview material, archival footage, process footage, Voice over, sound design, etc.), which you will be immediately applying into the project you are working on. The goal is to film, edit and complete a full short film documentary from the idea to the final product and within 10 weeks.
This is a hands on, workshop based course, where knowledge is eminently practical. This means that you will have to work on the film outside of the class hours and bring your progress to the class regularly, where you will receive feedback to continue working on it.
Since you may need to film new material several times during the course, you will need to have frequent access to the subjects and locations involved in the film. Do you have material for a film already shot but you don’t know how to shape into a meaningful film? Then this course is also great for you.
Important: Learning how to use a particular editing software is not included in this course. You are welcome to use your own (free, paid, amateur or professional) software and your own laptop or computer, and you can also use Premiere Pro at CREA facilities.
