The model is a great basis to increase your understanding of form, developing your powers of observation and giving you the freedom to experiment with all kinds of materials.
What will we be doing?
You will work on the technique of properly representing proportions. In the meantime you will be working on all kinds of aspects of drawing and painting: you will practice with lines in pencil and charcoal, light and shadow in black and white, colour crayons and paint, such as gouache and acrylic and all kinds of mixed forms in between. You work on different sizes of paper, from very small to large. With brushes, large brushes and sometimes with your fingers. A model is present in most of the lessons. Besides the whole figure, we will also study the face (portrait), the hands and the feet.
Everyone can participate. The teacher guides everyone individually and will try to bring out everyone”s talent.
This 10 week course can be extended to 2 x 10 lessons by enrolling in September as well as January. In the second course block you can further develop your technique or work on one or two individual projects. The second course block starts in the week of January 16th.
