Please note! For summer week courses, registrations close at 12:00 on the Monday before the start of the course (one week before the start). It is then decided whether the course has enough participants to go ahead. So, make sure to register on time!
Creating a portrait is more than pressing a button. During this intensive summer week, you will immerse yourself in the art of portrait photography. You will learn how to make images that really tell a story. With plenty of room to experiment, you will get to grips with technique and use of light, learn how to direct and develop your own style.
You will work with existing light, flash, composition, image editing and direction. You will also experiment with different settings, from studio to outdoor locations. You will discover how you as a photographer can influence the result – and how to get the most out of your model.
You will also learn about different forms of portrait photography, such as the documentary portrait, the fine art and studio portrait and even the selfie as a serious form of expression. You will learn which style suits you best and how to develop it further.
What will we be doing?
Each day starts with inspiration: we look at and discuss the work of leading portrait photographers. Then you will work on a practical assignment. You will discuss your photos in the group, receive targeted feedback and discover more about your own abilities and style.
