Imre van den Bosch

Imre van den Bosch graduated from Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht in 2018 and is a freelance theatre educator. He gives classes, courses, workshops, and training to theatre groups, schools, festivals, and companies. As a theatre-maker, Imre seeks interdisciplinary, interactive forms that allow the audience to experience immersion. He enjoys working with location-based and physical theatre.

A recurring question for Imre is: ‘How do I turn a spectator into a participant?’ This research focuses on encounters, requiring attention in a world centred around efficiency and individualism. Theatre demands embodiment and an awareness of the space in which we can play together and explore who we wish to be. With this view in mind, Imre founded his company, Rechild, to reconnect people with the joy of play.
