Forget what you know and look again.
During this course, you will learn to draw what you actually perceive. We will learn to look, learn to let go, learn to explore materials and how to use them. We are not going to make ‘beautiful’ drawings, because mistakes are interesting. What do I see in that which happened? In terms of material use, in terms of proportions, in terms of light and dark, and so on.
Rather ten failures with many discoveries than ten attempts to make a beautiful drawing. Smear soil on your paper, throw water on it, and whatnot. The goal is to discover the possibilities. Engage in the experiment, if it becomes uncomfortable you are probably doing something interesting!
What will we be doing?
This week, we will mainly do a lot of drawing on location, going out into the city, perhaps to Artis and the Hortus or a petting zoo. And if, for example, the dance or theatre course approves, we can draw there too.

Everyone is welcome, from beginner to experienced illustrator.
Your own drawing materials are allowed and are certainly welcome. In principle, we will not work with colour in order to focus entirely on perception and representation. We may draw on locations that ask an entrance fee, this will always be arranged with the approval of the group.
