Electronic music consists of all kinds of variants: from electronica, techno, deep house, ambient, wave, dubstep, hip-hop and acid to more exotic forms. It can be summed up in all music in which electronic sounds and beats play a role. The Netherlands is internationally known for its export product: Dutch dance music. In this course, we also look across borders: what is happening in Berlin and London, for instance?
What do you do?
You learn to create your own electronic music with the computer, i.e. to compose, produce and creatively manipulate it. Step by step, in a well-founded and creative way, you will learn to use the software package Ableton Live. The course is suitable for up-and-coming producer talent, creative laptop DJs and singer-songwriters who want to record and support their songs electronically.
The course consists of three parts: creating beats and sounds (synthesis), distorting existing material and mixing it.
