This course is similar to the one previously called Improvisation II.
When it comes to Improv, there is an emphasis on moving freely through the space available, and moving freely in your own body. It is about not having to think too hard about dance moves, but being able to surrender to the music and to your own movement, but also exploring personal movement patterns and habits, and breaking these habits to free up more potential.
What will you be doing?
This course is a follow-up course after Improvisation I. With Improvisation II you will be working with new disciplines for inspiration, such as photography, painting, poetry and music. Themes from every-day life will also be touched on such as objects, rituals and interpersonal relations. Further, there will be attention for contemporary choreographers, because you will be working with themes from pre-existing choreographies, through which you will learn to improvise and create short compositions.
