Want to work on your own performance or just make music, dance or sing freely? Rent a studio at our place!
With our wide choice of studios, from large dance rooms with mirrors to small piano studios, there is always a space to suit your artistic needs. Students rent a small piano studio for as little as €4,50 per hour!

How does it work?

With a CREA account, you can rent one or more studios for rehearsals for performing arts. If you do not yet have an account, please request one by telephone or visit CREA. If you are unsure whether your activity is permitted or whether the studio is suitable for this purpose, you can ask directly. In short: CREA studios are for rehearsals only (for lessons, workshops, large groups or other commercial activities, you can rent the Theatre and Music Hall).

STEP 1: creating an account

You can book a studio if you have a personal account. Call the CREA desk on +31 (0) 20 399 1212 during opening hours to create an account.

STEP 2: add credit

Add credit to your account (max €999) via the CREA front desk or online. By logging in via the button below, you can also check how much credit is left on your account.

STEP 3: call and book your studio

Choose the right studio below and make sure you have enough balance for the intended number of hours. Call the CREA front desk to make a reservation, which can be done up to two months in advance. For a reservation, you pay directly, so only booking with sufficient balance is possible. On the day itself, please check in at reception to collect your key and return it afterwards.

Studio cancellation
Cancel by phone or in person at the front desk. Cancellation is free of charge up to 24 hours before your reservation; after that you pay the full amount.

Rental rates & price categories

As of 1 July 2025, studio rental rates at CREA have increased.

You can rent a CREA studio by the hour (in full hours). If you are an amateur, cultural or educational institution, you may be eligible for a discount. CREA will determine whether you are eligible. Students and student groups receive an additional discount.

  • Student rate: full-time students at WO, HBO, MBO and part-time students at UvA/HvA(AUAS) are eligible for the student rate. Please show valid proof at the counter, such as:
    • A valid student card for the current academic year in combination with proof of enrolment.
    • Or a provisional proof of enrolment.
    • Or a confirmation of your registration with Studielink.
      Please note: a Studenten OV-chipkaart is not valid proof that you are currently studying.
  • Amateurs, cultural and educational institutions: CREA determines whether and if so what proof must be presented to qualify for this rate.
  • Regular rate: no proof required.

Please note: until proof of another category is provided, the regular rate applies.

Studio rental terms & conditions

  • Purpose of the rental: the studios are to be rented exclusively for rehearsals of performing arts. Meetings, giving or receiving workshops, lessons or courses are not allowed. Organising lessons or teaching in the studios is reserved for CREA alone. CREA determines whether a studio is suitable for the tenant’s intended use.
  • CREA’s own use: CREA reserves the right to use the space for its own use. Reservations may therefore have to be cancelled or changed. In such cases CREA will contact the tenant in time.
  • House rules: all users must adhere to the house rules, which can be found here >
  • Hours and times: studios can only be booked for whole hours. If the reserved time is exceeded, an additional hour will be charged.
  • Group bookings: for groups, the student discount only applies if more than half of the participants are able to proof that they are students.
  • Cancellations: free of charge up to 24 hours before the reserved time. After that, the full amount will be charged.
  • Long-term and special requests: please contact the secretariat at planning@crea.nl.

Sound system

All studios, with the exception of 3.02 and 3.03, are equipped with a sound system. You can connect a smartphone or other audio source to this system using a suitable cable. The system has an RCA connection (also known as phono plugs). You can bring your own cable or purchase one of the following at our reception (€5 each):

  • 3.5 mm (male) to 2xRCA (male). For a device with a headphone output (3.5 mm)
  • adapter cable from USB-C (male) to 3.5 mm (female). For a device with USB-C (such as many Androids or iPhone 15 and newer). Please note! For devices with USB-C, you will need both cables.

Do you have an iPhone with a Lightning connector (iPhone 14 and older)? Then you will need to bring your own Lightning (male) to 3.5 mm (female) adapter cable.

Microphones can be connected with an XLR cable. You will also need to bring this yourself.

Studio offer

CREA has 12 studios that can be rented for up to 20 people and 2 studios for 1 person. All studios have a piano and the large studios are equipped with a sound system. Four studios are specially suited for dance rehearsals and have a dance floor and a mirror wall. See below for the specifications and photos of each studio.

NOTE: As this studio is also used for our courses, it also contains a small sink and some folding tables. However, these cannot be used.
