Bio:

Sietse Remmers (b. 1989) is an actress, theatre producer and teacher.

Among the projects she’s worked on are a Greek tragedy with hits by Dolly Parton (2019) and The Taming of the Shrew – an adaptation with contributions by Shakespeare, Hoeyberghs, Trump, Johnson, Baudet, Remmers et al, a musical theatre production for medium, and large auditoriums (2020). She is currently working on Politics is entertainment for ugly people, a democalyptic political tragedy, and writing the lyrics for Frieda Belinfante – the feature musical.

As an actress, Sietse has appeared in such plays as Rompslomp at Arsenal/Lazarus (2019) and Kom hier dat ik u kus at Korthals Stuurman Theaterbureau (2019) and in guest roles in several Dutch and Flemish television series.

Her translation of Het Temmen van de Feeks (2021) was published by De Nieuwe Toneelbibliotheek, making Sietse the first published female translator of Shakespeare into Dutch since the 18th century. She is currently working on a translation of Julius Ceasar, which will also be published by DNTB.

Besides her performing work, Sietse works as a teacher and teaching theatre maker and teaches at WISPER, CREA Amsterdam, Parnassos Utrecht and the KSO Lemmens Institute, among others.
