Do you really enjoy singing together and have you always wanted to practice a swinging repertoire? Then join this course by Nicoline who, after years of guiding choirs and groups, is really looking forward to going back to her jazz background together with a group of enthusiasts this summer!
During this week you will be working with pieces by the Pointer Sisters, among others. Few people know the music of the Pointer Sisters when they were still singing jazz and soul pieces. In the 1980s, they switched to pop music. Their music of the 70s is really great and swinging. A forgotten era, but a must for every singer who takes themselves seriously!
The four Pointer Sisters were all swingers, real harmony monsters with beautiful voices. These ladies can”t be beat, but we can make an attempt to get close to their wonderful craziness!
What will we be doing?
This week you and the others will mainly focus on singing together and perfecting your timing. The days will start with a warming up and jazz improvisation exercises. You must have already studied the pieces in advance and a vote will be distributed. You will work towards a small performance at the end of the week. In short, a week of next-level harmony, solo singing and improvisation!
