This course will work towards an interdisciplinary final product in which the participants’ artistic skills are central. Contemporary dance is used as a connecting tool.
What will we be doing?
The week starts with the main discipline of contemporary dance. We will work on the basics and choreography for the final product. The rest of the week we will work with tools to create. Under supervision, you will use these tools to build your own scenes with the theme of expectations. While creating these scenes, you are free to choose one or more disciplines (e.g. dance, theatre, mime, spoken word, singing, rap). These scenes will be woven together using the choreography taught earlier in the week.
The aim of the course is to empower participants and to learn new qualities in the process. At the end of the week, we present the creation in the theatre or at an outdoor location.
