How do you look at the city? How do you experience colours, shapes, sounds, while at the same time your mind can be somewhere else, following the world news and conferring with your friends on the other side of the globe? A city is always in motion. It is being built and changed, greening and ageing. There are people and opinions; the city is the mirror of what is happening in the world.
What will you be doing?
This course offers an exploratory journey through Amsterdam, during the first few days you will make small-format studies with pencil, charcoal, coloured crayons and paint in various locations on site, while getting a crash course in drawing and painting. During the creative process, notes will be taken of environmental impressions and observations. In the final days, you will work on a large-format painted collage on paper that brings together preliminary studies and personal notes, allowing you to fully express your artistic vision.
