Music exists in many forms and contexts, it can be perceived as just form (sounds, beats, structure) or as a means to express or to self express. The process around the questions or expressions of identity can be explored in musical ways.
TAKE ACTION different, weird, sweet, loving, lovingly, take sweet action, sweet sweet action, sweet music, soft action… Queer music, soft action.
What will you do?
This course is about building an honest, maybe odd, musical message. It is about learning to make music! It is a creative, musical exercise: you will learn to produce music, a musical message. This course is about connecting Queer-ness to music. Approaching this with integrity (because this can sometimes be abused as window dressing). Together, and everybody for themselves, we will develop ways to link the topics we discuss, and identity, to the music, a musical message. In a safe, inspiring space.
You will learn to create music on the computer, i.e. to compose, produce and create it. In order to do so, to express something, you will find out how to use the software package Ableton Live.
How will we proceed?
The course is taught in CREA. The Ableton Live software is available on CREA Macs during the lessons.
