Who are you and what is your story? What is your inspiration and how do you translate this to video? Together with video maker Janneke de Jong you will explore these questions and the versatility of the medium of video!
What will we do?
With video you’re painting, as it were, with editing, sound, movement, color, light, direction and camera. How you can use these factors to express yourself is what we will be experimenting with in the next ten weeks!
In the first part of the course you will be challenged to think ‘out of the box’, your creativity stimulated and you will develop your creative eye. You will work with different forms of video, as if in a kind of lab. Maybe you’ll make a video clip, a moving poem, an abstract video, a diary excerpt, or a movie portrait. Or make short video sketches that together form a whole. We will also watch inspiring videos, teach you to understand and apply film language and you gain insight into the choices of a director.
In the second part of the course you will work on your own project, alone or together! In these weeks you can delve into the different forms that have been discussed. You will inspire each other and above all you will: create!
Please note: this is not a camera technical course, but a course for creative depth. The focus is on playing and experimenting with film and on your own inspirations. Some editing skills (in whatever methode) are preferable.
