Dance is a constantly evolving artform reflecting the times. Nowadays, dance often embraces audio, text, images, video, architecture (and other media) in order to provide more context and move beyond the traditional sources of inspiration.
What will you be doing?
In this week-long course, we will be diving into dancing in response to auditive, visual and literary stimuli, experimenting with ways in which multimedia can be used both as tools for improvisation, choreography and performance.
Every day will begin with an in-depth physical and somatic warm up, guided improvisation and movement research inspired by different media. Working individually and in small groups, the course participants will eventually share their discoveries with each other.
The idea is to engage in a rigorous physical practice inspired by individual creative choices which can broaden the understanding of movement, dance and the use of body in performance.
