During the Modern Jazz classes at CREA, you will be working on the isolated movement of body parts, dynamics, rhythm, and switching direction and form.
What will you be doing?
The classes will start off with a warm-up, stretching exercises and technical exercises. Following this you will be learning a choreography that will be performed during the final presentations in the Theatre of CREA.
Feadan’s course
During Feadan””s dance class you will be working with themes such as center, balance, power, length, flows and grooves, rhythm and the use of the floor. Feadan also puts emphasis on having the students explore their own language in dance during freestyle sessions, through the use of different methods of practice.
Céline’s course
This course will be a combination of the styles modern, jazz and urban. Choreographies will be made up of both smooth movements and firm accents. This alternation will lead to the dancing and music to amplify each other. Important aspects of these classes will be: balance, dynamics, rhythm, isolation of movement, coordination and use of rhythm.
This is the result of the courses by Céline of last season:
If you have acquired a taste for Modern Jazz you may wish to continue with Modern Jazz III or join the choreography project in spring.
